The Los Angeles Kings are still searching for their groove. At 4-7-2 (10 points), Los Angeles sits seventh in the Pacific Division after splitting its last six games.
The Kings closed October with a 3-2 home loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, when Tage Thompson scored twice and Martin Chromiak made his NHL debut for Los Angeles. Two nights earlier, the Kings blew a 5-1 lead against Ottawa before winning 6-5 in overtime. The penalty kill has been the biggest problem – it ranks last in the NHL.
There is help on the way: forward Adrian Kempe returned to practice Monday after missing the Buffalo game and is expected to play tonight, when the Kings (4-7-2) host the San Jose Sharks (7-8-1) at Crypto.com Arena at 9 p.m. CT. After that, Los Angeles hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday and the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, November 10.
