Map: Flock and License Plate Reader Cameras in Hendersonville, Tennessee

If you have noticed the small solar-powered cameras on poles around Hendersonville, most are Flock Safety automated license plate readers (ALPRs), which photograph passing vehicles and record plate numbers for law enforcement. Neither Flock nor the city publishes an official map of every camera, but volunteers have mapped them on OpenStreetMap – and those maps are public.

How many are documented in Hendersonville? FlockScanner counts 20 ALPR cameras in Hendersonville, while Finding Flock counts 37. Both stress their numbers are a lower bound, based only on cameras volunteers have spotted and mapped, not an official total. Statewide, the maps document roughly 3,600 to 3,700 plate readers across Tennessee, most of them Flock Safety cameras.
